Indigenous Revolutions had a massive impact on how modern society was shaped and how it is today. For example, The Seven Years’ War really improved the Indigenous peoples’ military relations. It improved since they became allies with both Britain and France. That allowed them to have multiple allies to aid them in any warfare they were involved in. Since they allied with both of those countries, they were able to see which country would best benefit them in certain situations.

Pontiac’s rebellion showed that the Indigenous people were not afraid to fight back when it came to what they wanted. They decided to launch a few attacks on the British since their expansion kept growing. Although the British still ended up winning, it still showed the persistence of the Natives.

In my opinion The American Revolution is the most interesting to me because I do not fully understand it. I think it is interesting that a lot of people decided to choose Britain’s side. Some of the Indigenous people most likely wanted to protect their lands from their expansion, but the whole “expansion” is what was taking their land. That part confused me since normally most of the time they were resilient when it came to protecting their land.

The War of 1812 was also interesting. Some of the Indigenous people chose to side with Britain again which again, confused me. However, many people also sided with the Americans this time. This war was more significant since it caused many Indigenous people to lose their land.

Another way these events affected Indigenous Civilization was that they used many exotic medical techniques. As we discussed in class, on page 160 of Elizabeth A. Fenn’s book: Encounters At The Heart Of The World, she mentions that “Fasting was a cure, used for ailments.” The treatments that were used appear more to me as superstitions. I believe that explains a lot about the Indigenous groups because they did believe in many different practices. Another cool treatment we talked about in class was how they would push the arrow all the way through a body in order to treat it.
