My name is Ben Frericks, and I am from Chillicothe, IL. I have many friends in my hometown who I really care about. They got me through high school, and I miss them often. I went to Illinois Valley Central High School and played baseball for four years. Now I am playing baseball here at Knox. I have one brother named Max, and he really enjoys playing video games. I play with him online sometimes, but he is better than me now. I plan on majoring in Biology because it has always interested me. My favorite part of anatomy is learning about the human body. In this course, I look forward to learning more about how certain pieces of land were established. Previously, the history classes I have taken have focused more on the World Wars. I have not learned too much about Native American History. Along with baseball, I also really enjoy fishing with my dad and friends in the summer. My dad has a boat that we fish on in the Illinois river and we primarily fish for sauger. My friends and I fish in small ponds or lakes, and we enjoy fishing for Large Mouth Bass. Listening to music is also one of my favorite activities to do with my friends. We listen to pretty much everything from intense rap to slow country. My personal favorite is country music late at night when we are all around a bonfire. We all celebrate The 4th of July together every year at one of my buddies’ houses. In the summer we also golf a lot even though none of us are that good yet. While we do enjoy golfing, it is also very expensive which means we cannot do it too often. I do really like all of my college friends and I am having a good time at school, but nothing will ever top my hometown friends. It also helped that we were all on the baseball team, so we were all hanging out regardless of if we were in school or not. There is not much to do in Chillicothe, but we still find ways of having fun.
